Welcome to our bakery.

Located in the mountains of Montana. As a homemaker this bakery grew from the desire to bring quality food from scratch around our table. Feeding my boys and loved ones is something I love to do.

I started baking sourdough and gifting loaves away when friends started asking to purchase on a regular basis and thus Karst and Sons Bakery was born.

  • Now you can find us on our weekly online menu through the Simply Bread App focusing on sourdough items and local seasonal ingredients. Our menu is small, intentional and seasonally changing

  • local farmers markets like O’Hara Commons Market both in person or the online winter market

  • Teaching workshops throughout the Bitterroot Valley

  • along with baked items I offer a “Makers Menu” highlighting a few handmade items from myself, my family and talented friends. These menus arent offered often so be sure to be on the lookout

Milled Fresh

We take special care to make our own blend of specialty wheat with a mixture of flours including freshly milled wheat berries here in our kitchen in order to create a great flavor and texture for every loaf.

All our breads are created from a natural levain (aka sourdough starter) we use a long slow fermentation and rise process.

Baked to Order

Baked goods will be dropped off and delivered weekly to provide the freshest loaves and baked good.
